Yes friends, I will be teaching Luneville embroidery in the UK at Stitchncraft studio next 6,7,8 september 2018 !
Luneville embroidery also known as tambour beading a very prestigious antique technique used in high fashion to decorate clothing, to make jewellery and even home decor. Luneville embroidery is a French Haute Couture technique where beads or sequins can be attached to a fabric. The embroidery is done with a hook working through a fabric stretched tight as a drum.
You’ll learn how to use the luneville hook: The chain stitch, beginning and ending stitches, directional changes, working angles, applying beads, sequins and tubes, working with different threads, adding stones, but also how to finish an embroidery work. You’ll work on professional *tambours for you to have the best experience while learning.
Only 7 students per class.
*Equipment will be provided for use on the day.
Workshop fee includes the use of professional tambours and tabour needles as well as a high-quality kit containing everything you need for this technique based workshop with professional artist Julie Romero. Julie will also discuss and show you how to turn your tambour work into items of jewellery.
